How to confirm your YubiKey is genuine

Requirements:

  • A Yubico device that supports FIDO U2F or FIDO2 (see Compatible devices above)
  • The latest version of Google Chrome, Opera, or Firefox

 

Steps for checking if your device is genuine:

  1. In a supported web browser, open the verification page: https://www.yubico.com/genuine/.

  2. Insert your Yubico device, and click Verify Device to begin the process.

  3. Touch the YubiKey when prompted, and if asked, allow it to see the make and model of the device.

  4. If you see Verification Complete, your device is authentic.
